Classroom Expectations:
Bring all materials to class.
Be in your seat and ready to work when the bell rings.
Respect your teacher and your classmates.
Listen, stay seated and quiet when someone is talking or enters the room.
I-pods, video games, magazines, cell phones and other electronic devices are prohibited in the classroom. They will be turned into the office.
Follow directions the first time they are given.
Obey all classroom rules, as well as those in the student handbook.
Refrain from eating or drinking beverages in class unless authorized by the teacher.
Classroom Procedures:
I expect that you will enter the room in an orderly fashion. Once you have arrived, please sit in your seat, take out your workbook, and the class will start activity for the day that will be posted.
You must be prepared for every class. It detracts from learning time if I have to locate a pencil or paper for you. If you forget your materials, there is a bin in the front of the classroom with pencils, pens, and paper. Quietly get what you need. This is not to be an everyday occurrence. You received the list of necessary supplies, and I expect you bring them for everyday use. Quietly return pencils and pens at the end of the class period.
I also expect that you will be quiet while I or another classmate is speaking. However, should you be involved in an activity that requires you to be out of your seat, I will get the class’ attention by clapping my hands. At this point, you will stop talking and wait for my next directive.
I expect that you use respectful language. You should exhibit courtesy and respect towards all other students and school personnel at all times. Hateful comments concerning race, gender, sexuality, political views, appearance, or of any other type will not be tolerated; this applies to serious as well as “joking” comment. Bullying will not be tolerated.
I dismiss the class, not the bell. Before you leave my room. It must be clean, the desks must be straight rows and you must be in your seat. Only then will I release the class.
Consequences: Discipline will be determined as per student handbook, school policy, and administration.
